DYSPORT® vs. Fillers
What’s the difference between DYSPORT® and filler?
There are different types of dermal fillers available. Even though fillers and DYSPORT® both reduce wrinkles, they work in completely different ways. DYSPORT® is an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a neuromuscular blocking agent. Botulinum toxin type A is the active ingredient in DYSPORT®. Unlike injectable fillers that use a substance to “fill in” wrinkles, DYSPORT® works by relaxing the facial muscles, similar to Botox.
Dermal fillers minimize the wrinkles and lines caused as the skin loses both its elasticity and its youthful volume. When injected, fillers restore volume where it’s been lost to create a smoother appearance.
DYSPORT® , on the other hand, addresses “dynamic wrinkles," which are caused by the repetitive contractions of facial muscles as we change expressions. For example, the lines between the eyebrows are a particularly common area of treatment that many people refer to as the 11's.
